Being built in 2015, Amadara Cruise is the youngest boat on the Mekong river. It is capable of carrying 124 passengers with its Deluxe Suites (452 ​​sq. Ft.), Suites (334 sq. Ft.) Itinerary

Day 1 : Saigon - My Tho - Cai Be (L, D)

  • Meeting point at Sofitel Plaza Hotel, then you will be transferred to My Tho Port to embark your luxury river ship for your eight-day Lower Mekong River cruise.
  • Settle in to your suite, in evening you will have a special welcome dinner on board.

Day  2 : Cai Be - Sa Dec (B, L, D)

  • A local boat will take you to the lovely river-land town of Cai Be today. Step ashore to visit the French Gothic Cathedral as well as the colourful port area, which is filled with colonial buildings and delightful flower gardens. Afterwards, visit a local rice paper manufacturer for insight into how Vietnamese rice paper is made, and then enjoy lunch back on board as your ship cruises towards the quaint Sa Dec.
  • This town is where the award-winning French writer Marguerite Duras met her Vietnamese-Chinese lover, Huynh Thuy Le. On arrival, tour Huynh Thuy Le’s old house and learn the story behind Marguerite Duras’ best-selling novel, The Lover. Later, visit a traditional Fujian Temple. Tonight, enjoy dinner on board your luxurious ship.

Day 3 : Sa Dec - Tan Chau Border (B, L, D)

  • This morning after a tantalizing breakfast, disembark your river ship and transfer to a small boat for a journey along the tiny tributaries that snake around Tan Chau. Cruise past a floating fish farm, then step ashore for a rickshaw tour of Tan Chau. Ride past shops, rice wine rooms and friendly locals eager to say hello. Later, step back in time during a visit to a local evergreen island and see authentic rural Mekong life. The remainder of today is then spent on board your luxurious river ship.
  • This afternoon, perhaps take in a fruit-carving demonstration by one of the ship’s chefs while border formalities are carried out and you cross into Cambodia. Alternatively, watch daily life on the Lower Mekong unfold, before enjoying a delicious dinner later this evening. After entering Cambodia, your ship will continue to cruise overnight towards the Cambodian capital of Phnom Penh.

Day 4 : Phnom Penh (B, L, D)

  • This morning to take in Phnom Penh’s river promenade as your ship nears the capital. After breakfast, disembark in Phnom Penh and embark on a moving excursion to the infamous Killing Fields, before visiting the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, located on the site of the Khmer Rouge’s notorious Security Prison 21 (S-21). Here, you’ll learn of the atrocities inflicted upon Cambodians during Pol Pot’s Khmer Rouge regime in the mid-to-late 1970s.
  • Later this afternoon, enjoy lunch back on board your ship, and then enjoy a guided tour of the spectacular Royal Palace, delighting in its dazzling white and gold architecture. This magnificent complex of buildings serves as the royal residence of the king of Cambodia. Afterwards, head to the Silver Pagoda, located on the south side of the palace complex. This temple houses many national treasures; most notable is a small 17th-century baccarat crystal Buddha (the ‘Emerald Buddha’ of Cambodia) and a life-sized gold Maitreya Buddha decorated with 9,584 diamonds.

Day 5: Phnom Penh (B, L, D)

  • This morning, we learn more about the darkest days of Cambodian history. After a scenic 45-minute drive from the ship is the Choeung Ek killing fields, we have the opportunity to walk through the fields, visit the small museum and Memorial Stupa, and learn more about the atrocities committed during the Khmer Rouge regime. Before returning to the ship, we also tour Tuol Sleng (also known as S-21), the former school that was converted to the main prison and torture headquarters of the Khmer Rouge.
  • Our afternoon is, again, at leisure, with many wonderful options. A short, traditional shadow puppet show will be performed before dinner this evening, and the manager will tell us about the artistic process of creating the beautiful, leather puppets, as well as explain the performance art.

Day 6 : Phnom Penh - Oudong - Kampong Tralach (B, L, D)

  • After a delicious breakfast, disembark in Prek K’dam and travel by coach on a morning tour of Oudong, the royal capital of Cambodia from 1618 until 1866. During your time here, visit the monastery for a Buddha blessing experience.
  • Afterwards, continue to Kampong Tralach for a visit to Wat Kampong Tralach Pleu before an exciting ox-cart ride takes you through rice fields and a small village to rejoin your ship

Day 7 : Kampong Chhnang (B, L, D)

  • You’ll enjoy a small-boat excursion into the wetlands near Kampong Chhnang. Then return to your ship and cast off towards the vast lake of Tonle Sap.
  • This evening, reflect on the days that have just gone by as you enjoy your last night on board your luxury river cruise as you indulge in a superb Farewell Dinner.

Day 8: Kampong Cham - Siem Reap (B)

  • Following breakfast we say good-bye to the Amadara Cruise and her crew, and transfer from Kampong Cham to Siem Reap, Cambodia. End of the trip.

Itinerary

Day 1 : Siem Reap - Kampong Cham (L, D)

  • Today you will check in your Amadara river ship at Tonle Sap Lake, the biggest fresh water lake that has dominated Cambodia from the mighty Mekong River and its people for centuries. Following the informative Welcome Briefing and meeting with our friendly crew, a Cambodian theme dinner is served in the Mekong Restaurant. Overnight stayed in Kampong Cham.

Day 2 : Kampong Cham - Kok Chen (B, L, D)

  • After breakfast, a local boat will take you into the lakeside wetlands that form the mouth of the Tonle Sap River. Kampong Chhnang is a busy rural port town with bustling markets. Mooring mid-stream, take a truly wonderful motorboat excursion into the lakeside wetlands that form the mouth of the river. Enjoy a stunning variety of birdlife, and of considerable interest are local life and floating village, see numerous great fish traps, some over a half-mile long.
  • In the afternoon, we will take a short tour to the Koh Chen village. You will also visit home workshops specializing in silversmithing and coppersmithing

Day 3 : Oudong - Kampong Tralach - Phnom Penh (B, L, D)

  • Have a breakfast on board. Transfer to Oudong, the former capital of Cambodia, and tour a monastery where you will receive a special Buddhist blessing. In Kampong Tralach, you will have a truly memorable excursion – an oxcart ride through the rice paddies surrounding a small village. Be back to ship for lunch.
  • Lately your ship departs for Phnom Penh, the official capital of Cambodia, where an afternoon walking tour will give you a wonderful introduction to the city. Return to the ship for dinner and an onboard Khmer Apsara Dances are presented by local skillful artists. The Amadara moors overnight in Phnom Penh.

Day 4 : Phnom Penh (B, L, D)

  • After breakfast on board this morning, guests meet their cyclo driver for an exciting morning city tour of Phnom Penh. You are gently transported by your driver along the riverfront to the Royal Palace complex. Here guests enjoy a leisurely walk through the grounds viewing Throne Hall and Moonlight Pavilion, before visiting the famous Silver Pagoda, home of Cambodia’s Emerald Buddha and Maitreya Buddha encrusted with more than 9,000 diamonds. Guests return to their cyclos for the short ride to the National Museum ending the morning with a comprehensive tour of the many Angkorian-preiod artifacts excavated at the Angkor Temple complex at Siem Reap.
  • After lunch onboard, you will take an afternoon excursion to Cambodia’s infamous Killing Fields, and also visit the Khmer Rouge’s grim Tuol Sleng S21 detention center (Genocide Museum) just outside the city. An overnight on the waterfront provides an opportunity to dine on your own in one of many nearby restaurants, if you so choose. .

Day 5 : Phnom Penh - Tan Chau Border  (B, L, D)

  • Following clearing formalities crossing the border, guests witness a fascinating change in the architecture along the riverfront as they are now in Vietnam.
  • After lunch, guests board beautiful sampans for a panoramic cruise of Tan Chau harbor with its traditional Vietnamese floating market. Your vessel moors at the small town of Tan Chau, Vietnam.

Day 6 : Tan Chau - Sa Dec (B, L, D)

  • Today, you will take a small local boat through narrow channels to several scenic locations, including a small village known as “Evergreen Island.”
  • Later, you will see Tan Chau from the vantage point of a traditional “xe-loi” (trishaw) that will take you around to all the sights, with stops at a silk-making workshop and another that produces rattan mats and slippers.
  • This afternoon, your ship cruises to Sa Dec, where it will moor overnight.

Day 7 : Sa Dec - Cai Be (B, L, D)

  • Following breakfast this morning, we board sampans to navigate the narrow canals of the Mekong. Guests observe daily routines of the villagers en route to the historic town as Sa Dec. we stop en-route at a local brick factory where guests can view the complete process of brick-making by local men and women utilizing clay form the Mekong River. We continue to the town as Sa Dec, where a short visit will be made to the home of Mr. Hyun Thuy Le, who inspires Marguerite Duras’ novel, L’Amant (The Lover) as well as a fascinating walk through the town’s market experiencing the sights and smells of the colorful fresh produce, meat, live fish and seafood being sold.
  • After returning to the ship for lunch, guests enjoy an afternoon cruise to Cai Be. We pass the city’s beautiful French gothic Cathedral then tour the historic An Kiet House with its beautiful surrounding gardens. Following we board our sampans to visit a traditional rice factory where workers produce rice paper, rice wine, popped rice, and many varieties of traditional candies. We then set sail towards My Tho enjoying a Lounge and elegant Vietnamese theme dinner as we bid farewell to the magnificent Mekong.

Day 8 : My Tho - Ho Chi Minh City (B)

  • Following breakfast guests disembark the vessel and transfer to Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam. Extend excursions in Ho Chi Minh.
